Zina spent the first few years of her life in Morocco. In 2017, she was imported to the United States by our friends at Ocerico Sloughis. Nine months later, she came to live with us.
Zina has a fantastic temperament and is a true ambassador for the breed. She enjoys being the center of attention at events such as dog shows. She loves everyone she meets and they love her back!
She is a resourceful, resilient, and tough Sloughi. Her self-appointed daily job is to make sure everything is in order in "her" house and yard. She spends hours keeping the backyard clear of all rodents, lizards, birds, and any other critters that may decide to trespass.
As the mother of our B litter, Zina brought much-needed diversity to the United States Sloughi gene pool. She whelped all nine puppies in 4 hours and 45 minutes with zero complications and without once leaving her whelping box. She is one hardy Moroccan Sloughi!
She is also one healthy Moroccan Sloughi. Zina was the first Sloughi listed on the OFA public database, the first Sloughi to have thyroid testing through OFA, and the first female CHIC-registered Sloughi.
Zina is now spayed and enjoys her job keeping our other Sloughis in line!
